On 20 April, the sixth oral argument for the Youth Climate Case was held at the Nagoya District Court, where two plaintiffs and the legal team presented their statements. As with the previous oral argument dates, the number of spectators exceeded the courtroom capacity, and a lottery was held for spectator seats.

After the hearing, the plaintiffs and their legal team explained the day’s proceedings and key points at a debriefing session. At the workshop, participants discussed in groups based on their home region.

Furthermore, later that day, the plaintiffs and debriefing session participants held a standing action in front of Nagoya Station to appeal for the necessity of climate change countermeasures.

A recording of the debriefing session is available above for viewing. Additionally, a future issue of our regularly published Youth Climate Case Newsletter (in Japanese) will include a detailed explanation of the sixth oral argument.
