Report: 4th Oral Argument Held on September 17, 2025 – joined by Former Hawaii Supreme Court Justice Michael Wilson
On 17 September, the fourth oral argument for the Youth Climate Case was held at Nagoya District Court, where two plaintiffs and the legal team presented their statements. Once again, the courtroom was filled beyond the capacity of 100 people, necessitating a lottery system for the public seating. Following the hearing, a debriefing and networking session took place nearby, and the plaintiffs and legal team explained the day’s proceedings and key points of legal argument.
Notably, former Hawaii Supreme Court Justice Michael Wilson, who presided over the climate lawsuits in Hawaii, came to show his support. Justice Wilson also observed the hearing and delivered a message of support to the young plaintiffs at the debriefing and networking session.
The recording of the debriefing session is available above. Furthermore, our regularly published Youth Climate Lawsuit Newsletter (in Japanese) will feature a detailed explanation of the fourth court date.
